About Moonlit Moss Studio
Creativity, Slowing Down & Finding Stained Glass
Moonlit Moss Studio was created during a season of slowing down.
After years of focusing heavily on work, health, and trying to build a future, I found myself feeling burnt out and disconnected from creativity. I had spent so much time trying to heal, stay productive, and keep pushing forward that I forgot how important it was to simply create things for the joy of it.
I started exploring different creative outlets, painting, clay, woodworking, photography, design, and anything that let me work with my hands and imagination again.
Then I found stained glass.
I fell in love with the process almost immediately: cutting each piece by hand, shaping the glass, wrapping foil, soldering everything together, and watching something solid and fragile transform into something full of color and light.
It felt grounding, calming, challenging, and deeply rewarding all at once.
Inspired by the Kootenays
Living in the Kootenays has shaped so much of my creative inspiration.
I’m constantly drawn to the mossy forests, mountain light, lakes, wildflowers, moonlit skies, changing seasons, and all the tiny details hidden throughout nature.
Photography, especially macro photography, has also become a huge part of how I experience creativity and inspiration. I love capturing textures, reflections, colors, and small moments that are easy to overlook.
Much of my work is inspired by:
- forests and fungi
- moonlight and changing light
- folklore and whimsy
- nature reclaiming forgotten places
- softness, texture, and atmosphere
- the feeling of wonder and calm found outdoors
Slow Handmade Art
Everything I create is made slowly and intentionally by hand.
What I love most about handmade art is that it carries evidence of the process, small variations, tiny imperfections, texture, movement, and individuality that make each piece feel alive and unique.
Moonlit Moss Studio is slowly growing into a space for all kinds of nature-inspired creativity, including stained glass, photography, handmade objects, and future artistic projects still waiting to come to life.
More than anything, I hope my work brings a little more beauty, light, whimsy, and connection to nature into everyday spaces.
Thank you for being here and supporting handmade art.
